The Look For Less - Kim Kardashian's Givenchy Shark Lock Knee Boots and Sheer Shirt Dress

I know, I know...this look is going way back, however whether you like it or not, it would seem that Shark Lock knee boots are here to stay in Givenchy's collections.  When I first saw these boots I yelled at the top of my lungs "U-G-L-Y, you 'aint got no alibi, you ugly!" and then rolled around the floor in a fit of laughter at the enjoyment that someone would have a good enough sense of humour to spend over $2000 for a pair.  Then, when I collected my self together and wiped the tears of laughter away, I took another look for good measure....and then, something peculiar happened; I thought to myself...

and of course, the ludicrous price tag made the urge to own a pair even greater. Back to reality and on the hunt for a similar pair I came across an almost identical pair from Persun at a cool $1800 less than the Givenchy boots! Below are pieces put together to recreate Kim Kardashian's look, albeit a lot friendlier on your bank balance.

Real vs. Steal - Classic Saint Laurent East-West Shopping Bag

Tote-ally lust worthy, right? The Saint Laurent Classic East-West is the perfectly understated and voluminous shopping bag to lose all your belongings inside.  The simple yet chic design features a reversible, multi-textured leather / suede composition, with flat handles and a slight-winged structure.  However at a mere(!) $1,190.00 we doubt there will be too much loose change jingling around in the bottom!  Due to this bag being practically perfect in every way, there's no surprise in saying that it is on the verge of being sold out.

Don't want to break the bank (or even rob one), but still got your eyes on the swag? Luckily Mango.com can help keep you on the straight and narrow with their version, which I think is pretty much on the money when substituting this arm candy. At $49.99, not only does the pebbled, faux-leather shopper bag from Mango feature similar flat top handles, it also offers almost the exact dimensions of the Saint Laurent.

The Burberry Autumn / Winter 2012 collection is fashion patriotism at it's finest.  Quintessentially chic and sophisticated Burberry with a quirky nod towards street style.  Featuring cropped bomber jackets, bow-tie belts cinching in peplum-cut waists with a range of accessories including gloves and umbrellas fully loaded with studs, doctor bags with animal head door-knockers and herringbone flat caps all displaying elements characteristic of the city.

The campaign, starring singer Roo Panes and up-and-coming actress Garbriella Wilde take centre-stage in the London-themed photographs and short films with aim to celebrate Britishness.

We wanted to play with everything that’s at the heart of the Burberry world — celebrating our brand and London through imagery, film, music, weather and our iconic outerwear, all in a very poetic and British way,”  Chief Creative Officer for Burberry - Christopher Bailey

Ending in a typical whimsical and fanciful final foray, a clap of thunder and lightening followed by a downpour of rain over the glasshouse tent situated in Kensington Gardens added to the perfect finale which showcased the array of studded umbrellas.

Ever wondered why girls have an unhealthy obsession with the colour pink?
Well... scientific studies have shown that generally people prefer the colour blue, although it is has been found that females tend to pick out the redder shades of blue.  Women's ability to better discriminate red from green could have evolved due to sex-specific divisions of labour: while men hunted, women gathered, and they had to be able to spot the ripe berries and fruits .....

So, bearing this in mind whilst I was doing the weekly grocery shop(!) I thought it completely fair and justifiable that when I got home that day I would make the following purchases, all of which were inevitably pink.  So next time you're uhm-ing and ah-ing over that pink must-have item; go ahead guilt-free and without hesitation.  After all, it's in our genes ;)
